2007 WORLD JUNIORS AND GIRLS UNDER 20 CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN YEREVAN, ARMENIA

The 2007 World Juniors and Girls Under 20 Chess Championships are being held in Yerevan, Armenia from October 2-17 at the Tigran Petrosian Chess House.

This event is played in 13 rounds, Swiss System in accordance with FIDE regulations.

Based on the event rules players born after January 1, 2007 are eligible to participate.

The U.S. Chess Federation qualified three players to represent the United States of America in the event.

GIRLS:

  • WFM Abrahamyan Tatev – FIDE Rating 2246 from California.

JUNIORS:

  • Molner Mackenzie – FIDE Rating 2308 from New Jersey.
  • IM Hungaski Robert – FIDE Rating 2432 from Connecticut.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee is the Prime Minister of Republic of Armenia and President of Armenian Chess FederationSerzh Sargsian.

The Tournament Director is Hrachik Tavadian and the Chief Arbiter is International Arbiter Armen Nikoghosian.
