New Jersey State Chess Federation Sponsors USCT’s Free Sets Program!
NJSCF, one of the largest and most active state chess associations in America, has generously sponsored this year’s US Chess Trust Free Sets & Boards program to Title I schools across the nation. In addition, NJSCF sponsored a special US Chess Trust mass shipment of nearly 500 tournament-quality sets and roll-up boards to elementary schools throughout New Jersey! NJSCF’s gift has enabled the USCT to deliver 1,100 free sets so far during our June-May fiscal year. Those shipments bring the many mental and social benefits of chess to thousands of at-risk kids across America!

NJSCF runs some of the most important tournaments in the U.S., including the largest annual team tournament in the world. It also sponsors $10,000 worth of simultaneous exhibitions throughout the state in 2025-2026. Its philanthropy extends beyond chess. This year, it’s donating $5,000 to the effort of rebuilding after the devastation of the California wildfires.
